National Cage Bird Show
American Singer Champions

The first National Cage Bird Show results available in Newsletters was in 1982, but prior to that Cliff Williams and George Commons were the big winners with Cliff winning 13 and George 4. Cliff specialized mainly in light colored birds and George in greens that he called "Wauconda Greens."

Kellogg was the original sponsor of the NCBS first in division awards. Being a "Kellogg" winner has almost become a generic term for being the best in show at the National! However, in 2001, the award was renamed the Scott Award because the Scott company bought Kellogg. In 2002, Higgins became the new NCBS sponsor, so the first in division award is now called the "Higgins Award." To avoid confusion and to treat each year equally, these people should be considered NCBS Best in Show winners and no longer referred to as Kellogg winners.
