After months of dialogue and modifications to several prototypes, our Canadian neighbors have developed a new show cage that meets the ASC Constitution standards!

They have taken into account the feedback received from ASC breeders and Judges in the United States on other prototypes and have:

• Put the tray back in the front (easier to replace paper on bottom when training the birds in our bird rooms);
• Put the bottom perch back in (so all birds/cages have the three perches);
• Made the top half of the cage the same size as the Prevue Cage (previously higher with bottom part smaller to accommodate larger birds; however it was modified based on feedback received from ASC Judges that our AS canaries should not be larger than the standard).

The "Le Canadien" Cage has:

1. The same "footprint" as the existing Show Cage manufactured by Prevue and the same height;
2. The door on the side;
3. 0.5 inch bar spacing (canary standard);
4. Preformed openings for the drinker and feeder;
5. 0.5 inch diameter perches (2 on top, one on the bottom);
6. Superior manufacturing quality as compared with the model currently manufactured by Prevue.
7. It has a carrying handle.

By majority vote, the ASC National Governing Board has approved this new show cage for use and distribution throughout the fancy (previously only considered for use in Canada).
